About the Project

“Serbian Literary Criticism” portal is a result of the project “Library and Information Science and increasing the visibility, accessibility, and impact of literary-critical thought in Serbia” which was supported during 2018 by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. This is a long term and socially relevant activity aiming to collect a large number of critical writings and to provide easier access to reviews and literary interpretations to a wide group of users. The library and information system or digital repository was established during the project as an infrastructure for depositing and searching texts and other forms of literary criticism. That is how the materials become more accessible and better presented online.

The initial corpus presented in this digital library is dedicated to major Serbian late 19th-century and early 20th-century critics: Jovan Skerlić, Bogdan and Pavle Popović and Isidora Sekulić. Besides this digitized, processed and searchable corpus, the digital library contains another two groups of papers: current literary criticism, which could be deposited by authors through self-archiving, and older critical works that are still under copyright. Increasing the repository content provides a comprehensive, relevant and accessible information resource, useful for a large number of users – from critics to various groups of readers.
